Signal is taking the core technologies that have been developed in its four main businesses and adapting
them to a variety of new types of business applications. One new business field we are promoting involves
the use of RFID technology
to satisfy
client needs for improved traceability and security. For example, our "IS-Cabinet" uses RFID technology to dramatically enhance the security of important documents stored in offices. Another example is our "BAG-TAG" system, which is currently undergoing testing at a number of airports. This system will improve the speed and accuracy of
baggage sorting, and is making it possible to achieve entirely new levels of traceability.
Another new field we are beginning to exploit is MEMS, where we have developed the Eco Scan® system using the latest in MEMS technology. We expect to find new applications for this technology in a wide variety of optical products.
